VM Solutions optimizes central accounting at T-Com
Heidelberg, 2006/11/06 – VM Solutions (vms) won the job of analyzing the central accounting system at T-Com, to determine its optimization potential.
VM Solutions (vms) won the job of analyzing the central accounting system at T-Com, to determine its optimization potential. The knowledge service provider observed the use data and performance data over a timeframe of several weeks, and compared it with its database of approximately one thousand analyzed SAP installations. “Every SAP landscape has its strengths and weaknesses. Even if some areas show optimal performance, if you look at the big picture, there is considerable optimization potential”, maintained Ralph Treitz, the managing director at VMS. “Large, complex systems allow massive cost savings. Often, millions of euros are at stake”.
The daily work of the employees is not affected by this to any noticeable degree. VMS installs a small service program that does not affect the work processes, and that only affects the data in the background. As part of that, not only the IT infrastructure as such is analyzed, but also the user behavior, as well as the way that various systems interact. It is that depth of analysis that led the Bonn, Germany company to choose VMS as its optimization service provider. After six weeks, T-Com receives the report from VMS, which is used as a guide for improving efficiency, while at the same time, reducing costs. “In the end, we provide a concrete recommendation and we quantify the savings potential precisely. The customers can thus react to our results immediately, and can then put the recommendations into action”, stated Treitz. T-Com is the twentieth company from the Top 100 DAX (German Stock Exchange) listed companies that has had its SAP environment analyzed by VMS.
About VMS
VMS has been optimizing SAP landscapes since 2002. VMS scans SAP installations from the process-level to the transaction-level and, partnering with CIOs, and identifies strengths and weaknesses. In doing this, VMS works with an integrated concept that comprises the IT infrastructure and the IT and business processes. VMS’ methods are “minimally invasive”, because the work puts only a minimal strain on the client’s resources. VMS offers the collected experience and data from about 2,600 SAP systems that it has measured, and that enables VMS to provide action-oriented advice on optimization and cost management. The structure and dynamics of the IT environment are then reproduced in a final VMS Report, which is used as the navigation system of the SAP landscape.
