DAK - Unternehmen Leben (“Operation Life”) is the second largest public health insurance provider in Germany. DAK has over 800 business locations and 14,000 employees in Germany.
The DAK IT subsidiary runs an SAP landscape for approximately 1,000 DAK users, with a core focus in the areas of SAP “Classic”, Human Capital Management, and E-Recruiting. DAK is expanding its own IT service provider, BITMARCK, on the basis of that and additional services, for the health insurance industry. In order to support this change, VMS analyzed the SAP costs and performance structure, using benchmarks.
The VMS Report showed an optimization potential in specific sub-areas of the SAP operating costs. Detailed strategic recommendations for action were also provided in the Report, along with measures for realizing that potential. Platform strategy, showing a service level in conformity with the market, the optimal set-up of service level agreements, as well as best practice approaches were the focus of attention for setting up an efficient IT Controlling strategy.
