EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG (Corp.), located in Karlsruhe, Germany, is the third-largest German energy company, with approximately six million customers.
The SAP landscape at EnBW has over 20 system lines. Sven Gilles, the head of IT Operations, commissioned the SAP benchmarking analysts at VMS to check the organizational set-up of the SAP Basis operations at the company, as well as system efficiency.
VMS carried out a comparative analysis with respect to market-typical models of how SAP Basis is used. VMS also investigated the head-count used in comparison to other companies. DNA level benchmark was used to help demarcate the performance spectrum.
The basis for that were the alternative organizational and process models at companies commonly used in the market, with comparable scope, complexity, and tasks. The VMS analysis highlighted the various possible models, and VMS worked together with EnBW to find the most efficient variant.
