Eurocopter is the helicopter division of EADS. Eurocopter Deutschland (Eurocopter Germany), located in Donauwörth Germany is responsible worldwide for SAP application management.

Eurocopter’s work with VMS began with a benchmark during the rollout phase of SAP R/3. Eurocopter and SAP SI, which was essential in the implementation, commissioned VMS with a benchmark, in order to detect, as early as possible, technical and organizational deficits, before they could affect worldwide rollout of the system.

Then Eurocopter and VMS defined an initial model for use-oriented performance calculations, which was awarded the Lighthouse Application at EADS, which can be translated as “to be used as a model”. Since 2002, that model was continuously adapted to reflect the changing circumstances. The time required for those adjustments is around 5 days per year. In addition, VMS also carries out the performance calculations operatively, meaning that VMS continuously creates system measurements and the costs to be calculated, on a monthly basis, and cost center expenses and documents for the cost center owner at Eurocopter, worldwide.

Customer Stories

“We are extremely satisfied, because VMS is a very competent partner that presents itself not only as a classical service provider, but also provides goal-directed alternatives for discussion, based on its broad expertise. Our users appreciate it that we assign IT costs on a use basis, but that we can also respond flexibly to specific local situations. And we then make available to Controlling and to the business auditor a well-documented, origin-based calculation for the international companies.”
