Ravensburger AG, Ravensburg (Germany)
Ravensburger AG is a group that does business all over the world, and is worldwide known as a manufacturer of games and puzzles. Ravensburger AG is a market leader in puzzles and leisure products in Germany and Europe, and had a consolidated sales volume in 2007 of over 285 billion euros. At the company headquarters in Ravensburg, the company employs approximately 1,000 employees, and worldwide, 1,500.
For Ravensburger, SAP software is the backbone of the commercial IT systems. Along with the ERP system and a separate HR system, Ravensburger also has its own warehouse system, which was developed in-house, but based on the earliest SAP R/3 Basis system.
VMS and Ravensburger AG have worked together for many years, in which a whole series of projects were carried out based on a comprehensive market overview on the one hand, and knowledge of SAP technology and applications on the other.
The product of that work includes benchmarking the applications, a monthly alert reporting process on the quality of the SAP operation, and consulting on issues of software strategy, implementation, and last but not least, license management.
Customer Stories
“Utilization of our IT system varies greatly, depending on the season. For this reason, optimal resource-use is very important to us. Due to this cyclical pattern, we have to avoid running into a cost-trap. Thanks to VMS, the VMS Benchmark allowed us to find out how to optimize the design of our IT landscape.
The monthly report with the VMS Monitor allows us to operate our SAP systems to our best advantage in regard to costs, use and quality. This long-term assistance is ideal, because we get excellent, action-oriented reports without any effort on our part and without any interruptions to our daily routine.
VMS did all the work on time, with good quality, and under budget. We have been totally satisfied with VMS, for many years. The things we have worked together on include strategy, costs, and operative quality. I can say, in short: VMS is the place for detailed SAP internal knowledge.”
