Sika AG, located in Baar, Switzerland, is a globally-active, innovative specialty chemicals company. Sika is a leading company in the areas of process materials for insulation, adhesives, sound insulation, and for strengthening and protecting load-bearing structures at construction sites and in industry. Sika Informationsysteme AG is the IT service provider within Sika AG.

VMS carried out the process-based cost allocation of SAP utilization for Sika Informationssysteme AG. The objective was the step-by-step introduction of a new, process-oriented allocation system by means of a continually changing cost allocation system.

Initially, the optimization potential in the SAP system and in the business processes involved was identified using the VMS Report. The business processes now have the necessary transparency with respect to their SAP-related IT costs and the cost-drivers at consumption-level.

As a result, Sika Informationssysteme AG is capable of demonstrating the relationship between process-complexity and the calculated price, and illustrating the positive effect of process-simplifications.
