T-Systems Enterprise Services GmbH, Frankfurt (Germany)

T-Systems is an important part of Deutsche Telekom, along with the private customer business. The service provider offers information and communication technology (ICT) in one location, and develops net-centric ICT solutions. T-Systems has 56,000 employees and supports customers in over 20 countries, including multinational corporations, public institutions, and mid-sized companies.

VMS has worked on a number of projects together with T-Systems, since VMS was founded. Included in that are projects for common customers, in particular benchmarking of outsourcing contracts and leading feasibility studies. But VMS also works for T-Systems, for example in HR planning, in the monthly review for the large T-Systems business core systems, using forecasts for system consolidation and the analysis of support structures.

T-Systems Enterprise Services runs in its own T-Systems computer center for Eurohypo-Systems (EHS), an SAP landscape with approximately 4,500 users. Eurohypo Systems GmbH (EHS) is the system entity of Eurohypo AG, the leading European real estate and governmental financial provider, and provides services in the area of information technology, as an IT service company.

VMS was commissioned by both companies: T-Systems as the service provider, and Eurohypo as the customer, to check the service performance contract, which was about to run out. The basis of the benchmark was a measurement of the systems, which belong to the largest SAP systems in the industry.

As VMS commonly does, not only were the costs analyzed, but a critical quality check was simultaneously done on the systems. The result included operative improvements, the SLAs were made more concrete, and criteria were adapted to the current market standard, and the appropriate cost level for future contacts was determined, based on a market comparison.
